Dear Family,
Hello everybody! The Elder Thomas affairs are well. Glad to hear things are moving at home. How is the weather? Really bipolar here. Monday was amazing, with Tuesday beaming a tad bit windy, Wednesday was
flippen cold, Thursday was perfect and today is a tad bit windy again. (This letter was written on March 9th) Sitting in the sun right now writing letters; kind of nice :) High five Mom on the website thing. Ronald Reagan is the answer, what is the question.
Today i went to the Temple and that was sweet. Did an endowment session, ate breakfast, and then a sealing session. The food is good at the Temple! Got some bacon, sausage, hash browns and 2 biscuits. The MTC food isn't bad, but one eventually needs a change of diet after a month of that food. Tonight is pizza night so all is well ") Actually losing weight while here at the MTC, I know weird, right? Every gym time I run some laps, left some weights, and then usually play volleyball with Seth and Geran.
Personal study in the scriptures is the bomb. At home I read the scriptures because that is what I had to do, but here I relish the opportunity. Right now I am in Ether 7 and it is so applicable to the "Investigators" and I need. As I study to help them, Heavenly Father blesses me with a stronger testimony. The other day Elder Macnab and I were teaching one of our "Investigators" and I told her that God loves her. (Dios tiene amor por usted) and she brought up the fact that if God loved her why would he allow her kids and her to suffer. I know but the Spirit constrained me from answering. I was devastated. While I was wondering why my mouth had been stopped, Elder Macnab whipped out a scripture, Eva "Investigator" said something in Spanish and we left. I began to figure out what I needed to do better. As I prayed our teacher (we are now in class) started talking about using questions to get the "Investigators" to teach themselves. Elders are there to invite the truth, when we sit in front of a person and just vomit words, they don't learn nearly as well. So I began incorporationg that into lessons, but something was missing. I then received revalacion to use the Book of Mormon. Using the Book brings a Spirit of truth into the room. Thinking that was good and I went to the next lesson to more revalacion that I needed to study PMG more. The great thing about praying for improvement is that God answers every time.
So lessons are getting interesting as my Spanish improve. Every week I pick a topic to work on and this week is focused on diligence and working with the imperfect tense in Spanish. Elder Macnab is a beast with Spanish so I am really blessed there. Estoy aprendiendo mas todos los dias y un dia estaira muy bien con el. I won't know about the Visa thing for a couple more weeks. No Prob! Focus on the work and time flys here. Next week I am hoping to be able to send some photos.
Well that is all I have for this week. One other thing, can Dad write his conversion story down and send it with the next letter. Spare not details. Love you all!
Love,
Elder Aaron Thomas
