 May 20,2012
I am a bit behind :)  These are letters he has written awhile ago up to last week for Mother's day.

Dear Mom,

Hey how is it going! I talked to you this week already so I don´t have much to say. Hope that you had a great mother´s day and I love you like an obese child loves sugar cookies. :D

Much love,
Elder Aaron Thomas
Here is a letter Aaron wrote to his Dad and Kenny read it in Sacrament Meeting.

When I think of Christ like love I always think of my mom.  The thing that I always think about is how every time we would go to the store she would have someones birthday is mind and she would always want to get them something. My mom is the kind of women that will dropped what she is doing to go and help someone is need. The experience I love  the most with my mom when we would go to the movies together almost every Saturday and so many people can feel here love that their faces light up when they see here sitting there in the theatre. On a side note I love funny movie with my mom because when she starts laughing so hard and her face squats together, turns red, and starts crying and she laughs. My mom taught me so much about love for so many people. This love is so vital in the work I am doing now and I know the Lord blessed me with a mother who would show me what it truly meant to care for somebody. I can safely say that my mom is one of my best friends and one of the few people that understands my taste in movie.    I love you Ma and want you to know that I think of you and know I am doing the right thing out here. Happy Mother´s Day mom and make sure that you don´t let Emma eat your chocolate.
Dear Mom,

How yah doin? This week has been a bit of a toughy for me. We lost our investigator Emmanuel and now we have to start looking for new ones. All in a weeks work for an Elder. I am really starting to have the most intense prayers of my life down here. The people, the language, it all just takes are ton of work. I am stoked to learn more.

The funny story I have for this week is it was dark and Elder Haws and I were walking home. We looked ahead and so this big ol dog squeezing through this tiny little fence. We were thinking that was pretty weird and I stopped to think about it for a couple of seconds. Elder Haws kept walking and turn around to talk to me when a huge old doberman jumped, snarling at the fence to the write. He about jumped half way into the street. I was about to fall over laughing. Oo by the way the big ol dog made it through that tiny fence and thankfully the doberman couldn´t.

I want you to know that my testimony is growing down here. I have to constantly rely on the lord just to do simple things like ask for a direction. The Lord definatly blesses those who rely on him 100 percent. I know this week is going to be even better than last and that we will find success here.

Could you please give my email address to April because I don´t think I will be able to send here are letter of response. Also can you give me the email address of Seth and Geran.  Thanks!

Much Love Ma,
Elder Aaron Thomas

Dear Dad,

This week has definately been a lot of walking and talking. We found a couple of new investigators and one man with a loose baptism date. It is very exciting to see people react to the message. One of my favorite parts of the day is studying in the morning. I have 4 hours to study every day and it is so amazing. I am reading the same book I have read my whole life, but it is differant. It is more rich like the differance between you home made bread and the stuff you can buy at the store. I have recently been reading in Jacob over the lord of the vineyard and all of that. I lot of references to missionaries in there. O a cool fact the missionaries who found you were using what we call a reference and to ask to be baptized the first lesson was really strange for back then. They must have been feeling the spirit something fierce.

Glad to here that you have money now. Finally the dog won´t have to suffer from her embarrassing unstraight teeth. Yup sound like you are really getting ready to hit that road to retirement well. still thinking of an RV or thinking of sticking more around the house? I miss you a whole ton and want to say Happy Late Birthday. I was in the colectivo or bus the other day and I was thinking a little bit about birthdays and then I remembered yours was on the 19th. Sorry but happy birthday all the same.

My testimony has never been stronger of the divinity of Christ. He is constantly working with our faults to make us that much stronger. I have seen the happiness of families here who are firm in the gospel and I have seen the faces of those who have fallen away. It is like something has been switched off. I am so grateful that I have been blessed with a family who is so firmly set in the gospel. Don´t have any fear to work with the missionaries in our ward. I never realized but they actually came over to find references sometimes. I always thought they just wanted to eat.

Love you Dad and write back soon,
Elder Aaron Thomas
